The Rippey Lions Club joined together for their first meeting and enjoyed a potluck meal. Planning began for serving roast beef sundaes and other preparation for serving food for the bike riders and others on the day of the Bike Ride to Rippey on Feb. 3 and plans for the proceeds from that day. Pastor Paul Burrow presented the program by sharing recent places of interest in Iowa from the Field of Dreams to the Loess Hillls with state parks and other interesting sites to visit. Mary Weaver with the Friends of Education Committee will present the program for the Rippey Lions Club on Jan. 18 with information on the proposed Greene County Community High School/Career Academy proposal. Community people who are interested can come for the program at 8 p.m. at the RippeyUnited Methodist Church.
