Funeral services were held Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry with word of comfort by Pastor Deb Parkison of the Rippey United Methodist Church. Wayne died December 11, 2006 as a result of an auto accident. Interment was at the Rippey Cemetery.
Wayne Carl Schriefer, son of Carl Gerhart Schriefer and Grace Wilhemina Boe Schriefer, was born April 12, 1943 in Perry, Iowa and died December 11, 2006 near Perry at the age of 63 years.
Wayne lived in and around Perry all of his life. He was married to Phyllis Goodman and they had a son, Matthew. They later divorced. Wayne was united in marriage to Roseann Cavallaro. They enjoyed their life together.
Wayne was a farm laborer and he later worked at Fazel Brothers and Oscar Mayer. he enjoyed working for the Hotel Pattee until his retirement.
Wayne was very social and always liked visiting with everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother and sister; and two nephew: Donald and Kenneth.
Wayne is survived by his wife Roseann; his son Matthew of New York; sisters; Shirley Hines of Perry and Carolyn Monthei and husband Gail of Rippey; niece Carrie McCain and husband Chris of Ogden and nephew Marc Monthei of Des Moines; other relatives and many friends.
