A special visit for a 96th birthday!

Dean Wilson, Errol Wilson, and Lynn Wilson

Dean Wilson of Los Angeles, CA, and Lynn Wilson of Stillwater, MN helped their father, Errol Wilson, celebrate his 96th birthday, which was December 17, 2014. Errol resides at the Rowley Masonic Home in Perry. The staff sang Happy Birthday to him, and he blew out the candles on his special cake. Dean and Lynn appreciate the Rowley staff for putting together the nice birthday lunch for their Dad. The singing, birthday cake, and taking pictures were much appreciated. It was a nice event.

Rippey “old timers” will remember Errol as a 1938 graduate of Rippey Consolidated School.  For a while he worked at a meat packing house in Perry, and then he worked in sales at Montgomery Ward’s in Perry and Omaha, Nebraska. In 1942 he purchased a small Phillips 66 service station in Rippey, and began his life’s work in the oil business. In 1945 he built a modern service station in Rippey, which is now Sparky’s. In 1957 he took over his brother Ed’s tank wagon business, and became a Phillips 66 jobber (Wilson Oil Company). Upon Errol’s retirement in 1980, he and his wife, LaFaun, spent their winters in Alamo, Texas. In 1988 they moved to Alamo. LaFaun passed away on July 28, 2003.
