From The Globe Free Press, January 24, 1946

A transaction was made Monday when c. F. Shane purchased the restaurant and cafe from Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Vance. Possession will be given on or before March 1. The Shane family has lived the past year on the Hagerman farm in the east edge of town and for several months assisted in operating a dairy. They will move their household goods to the second story of the building which has been the living quarters for the Vance family.

Mr. and Mrs. Vance have made no arrangements as to what they will do after giving possession to the new owner. They feel the work has been too strenuous and hope to find something which does not require such long hours of service. They have been here for 12 years and have many scores of acquaintances who will miss them and who hope they will not move so far away but they might return often.

Mr. and Mrs. Shane and daughter are well known here and will make excellent business people for our town.
