Ralph Eldon “Pink” Grow, 89, was born October 2, 1916 in Rippey, Iowa and died April 29, 2006 in Perry, Iowa.
Eldon or “Pink” as he was well known grew up in Rippey and farmed there for over 45 years before retiring in 1983 and moving to Perry. Pink worked at Hastings Funeral Home where he was employed for 20 years. Pink was a long time member of the Rippey United Methodist Church and was a member of the choir for over 60 years.
He is survived by his wife Esther of Perry, his daughter; Vickie Striegel (Jim) of Delta, IA and Darla Grow of Lincoln, NB, five grandchildren; Dan Striegel, Tom Striegel, Becky McCullough, Cathy Doorneweerd and Garrett Matuska.
Services were held May 3 at the Rippey United Methodist Church with burial in Rippey Cemetery. Words of comfort were given by Pastor Deb Parkison and Rev. Russell Eldridge. Organist was Marjorie Vannatta and the Rippey UMC Choir provided music selections.
