JEFFERSON, GRAND JUNCTION AND RIPPEY FIRE DEPARTMENTS JOIN TOGETHER FOR TRAINING

On October 18, 2014 the fire departments from Jefferson and Grand Junction came to Rippey to join the Rippey fire department for a controlled burn for fire training exercises.  There were lots of folks with cameras to watch this event.  It was great entertainment for an otherwise dreary Saturday morning.  These little boys were excited when they saw the first flames!  The house will be remembered by the older folks as the home of Harry and Erma(Lansing) Burk, Holmes.  Now owned by the First United Methodist Church, the lot will be used for parking.

Holden Ray Ulrich, son of Matt and Megan Ulrich of rural Ogden, celebrated his 1st birthday in style with a “Golfing Partee” the Saturday following his August 5 birthday.  The decorations and food served carried out the golfing theme including Holden’s birthday hat!  Attending Holden’s party was special guest, great grandma Molly Sarff from Sioux City.  Holden’s sister Evie, his grandparents, aunts and uncles, and several cousins were able to join the festivities.  The weather was wonderful so most of the activities were held outdoors.

Reid Lewis of Polk City celebrated his 2nd birthday recently.  His parents, Erin and Brett Lewis, and sister Cambrie hosted a party for him using a tractor theme which included a John Deere cake made by his mom.   Attending were Dennis and Sharon Ulrich, Andy Ulrich, Megan, Evie and Holden Ulrich, Sara and Greta Gangel, Larry and Sherry Hill, Bev and Ted Meier, Bob, Daissy and Bryan Ulrich.
