Services were held Saturday, February 11, at Hstings Funeral Home in Jefferson for Henry Ray Armstrong, 69, of Florida, former Rippey area resident.
Pastor Larry Monthei of the Cooper United Methodist Church officiated. Carson Griffith was pianist. Honorary casket bearer was Fred Thorpe.
Casket bearers were Mike Entringer, Randy Frantz, Mike Bolfik, and Jerry Silbaugh. Interment was in Jefferson Cemetery.
Henry Ray Armstrong, won of William Richard Armstrong and Bonnie Rhoda Mattson Armstrong was born January 15, 1937 in Jefferson. He died February 7, 2006 at his daughter’s home in Weeki Wachi, FL.
Ray grew up on a farm north of Rippey and graduated from Rippey High School with the Class of 1955. He was the father of two daughters, Teresa and Sue.
Ray worked at various truck stops like Truck Haven in Jefferson, the Boondocks, and also a truck stop in Montezuma, as well as doing many other jobs.
In 1996 he moved to Florida to be closer to his daughters and has lived there since.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, LeRoy.
Survivors include his daughters, Teresa Tibbs and Sue Entringer and her husband Mike, all of Florida, seven grandchildren, Melanie Thorpe of Grand Junction, Jennifer Bolfik and her husband Mike of Clive, Shannon and Kathy Entringer, and Andrew, Ashley, and Hannah Tibbs all of Florida; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Thorpe and Gage Bolfik, and nieces and nephews.
