Gives Possession April First

L. A. Senter & Son are New Owners

Last Wednesday, March 10th, one of Rippey’s General Merchandise stores was sold. Mr. J. F. Thompson, the present owner, sold to Mr. L. A. &C. A. Senter who will assume control April first and will operate the store under the name of L. A. Senter & Son.

Mr. Thompson bought this store last June and has enjoyed a well deserved patronage. He has sold this store that he can enter the Self Serve Grocery Store business. Mr. Thompson’s son is now operating three of these kind of stores under the name of Square Deal Self-Serve Store; at Newton, Grinnell and Marshalltown. This is a great field and Mr. Thompson is entering a field in which he is bound to make a huge success of. The father and son will form a partnership in conducting the stores already established. The new proprietors need no special introduction to Rippey residents as they have both resided in this community for some time. “Al” being now employed by Mr.. Thompson and C. A. having just moved to town from a farm near here. Success to them in their new enterprise.

Although we do not like to lose Mr. Thompson, still we know he has made a wise move and we extend our best wishes for his future success and perhaps some day he may decide to install a “Self Serve” in Rippey.

Mr. Thompson’s family will not move until after the present school year closes
