Services were held Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church in Perry of Jack W. Carlisle, 74, of Perry.
The Rev. David Swinton officiated. Richard Marks was organist and Kathy Nelson was soloist. Joe Royer was usher. Honorary casket bearers were Dave Iben, Darren Whitmore, Larry Abbas, Tony Shelton, Louie Hensen, Mac McNeill, Jack Anderson and Larry Blaker.
Casket bearers were Kris Killam, Kai Killam, Justin Davis, Trevis Carey, Steve Wilkening, Robert Bebb and Chris Laub. Interment was in Rippey Cemetery, with Kinkead Martin Post #583 and American Legion Post #85 of Perry providing military rites.
A Masonic service was held Monday evening with John Struyk presiding.
Services were arranged by Hastings Funeral Home of Perry.
Jack W. Carlisle, son of James Wilbur Carlisle and Irene Mildred Ashley Carlisle, was born July 17, 1930 in Perry. He died October 15, 2004 at his home in Perry.
Jack’s mother died when he was only 15 months old and he was raised by his grandparents, Lewis and Elsie Carlisle. Jack attended Perry High School and later attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines for two years.
Jack served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1951 and then in the Air Force from 1957 to 1961. he saw duty in Korea and Vietnam.
He was married to Donna Joan Heater on June 19, 1955. They were the parents of one daughter, Jacqueline.
Jack worked at Pace Warehouse and retired from K-Mart.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Otley Masonic Lodge #299, American Legion Post #85, the Perry Golf and Country Club, and Lakeside Golf Course in Greene County. he was an avid golfer and toured with the Senior Amateur League, being named their tour ambassador.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and his brother in law, Carl Killam.
He is survived by his wife Donna; their daughter, Jacqueline Dhabolt of Indianola; his father in law Robert Heater of Rippey; his brother in law Lyle Heater and his wife Marilyn of Rippey, Dr. Richard Heater and his wife Marian of Sacramento, CA, and Bill Heater of Rippey; his sister in law Kathy Killam of East Moline, IL and Lee Ann Davis and her husband Brian of Grand Junction; and nieces and nephews.
