Memorial services were held Friday, May 25, 2007 at Grace Church in Lees Summit, MO. for Kathryn (Kathy) Ann (Gannon) Kirschbaum who passed away May 23, 2007.
Officiant was John Privett and worship was given by Tommy Stanley.   Tributes to Kathy were given by three friends of Grace Church and Monica Tenorio, sister of Kathy.   Casketbearers were Hugh, Mark, John, and Rick Gannon, brothers of Kathy; also Doug and Aaron Kirschbaum, husband and son of Kathy.  Interment was in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Lees Summit.
    Kathryn Ann Kirschbaum was born June 24, 1957 to Phyllis (Adamson)Gannon and Eugene Gannon at Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson.  She was raised on a farm south of Grand Junction.
    Kathy attended school at East Greene School, graduating with the class of 1975.   She attended A.I.B. Business College in Des Moines.   After graduating she worked for UPS in Des Moines for several years.
    In 1980 Kathy married Douglas Kirschbaum.  To this union three children were born: Erica Kay, Aaron Douglas, and Charity Lynn Kirschbaum.   They lived in Des Moines and Colorado before moving to Kansas City, MO. in 1984, later moving to Lees Summit where they have lived for 20 years.
    Kathy worked for Hospice Respite as a C.N.A. nurse, taking care of others.  Little did she know she would be the one receiving care from hospice nurses.   Kathy fought a long, courageous battle with cancer.  On May 23, 2007 Kathy went to her heavenly home where there will be no more pain.   She will be remembered for her kindness, love for others, and her ability to make others comfortable and happy.
    She leaves her husband, Douglas Kirschbaum of Lees Summitt, daughters Erica Kirschbaum of Nashville, TN and Charity Kirschbaum of Lees Summit and son Aaron Kirschbaum of Lees Summit.
    Other survivors are her mother, Phyllis Gannon of Grand Junction, IA. four sisters, Jackie Blanshan of Cedar Falls, IA. Mary (Gerald) Swecker of Dalhart, TX., Monica (Michael) Tenorio of Amarillo, TX. and Jenny (Reg) Boston of Runnells, IA.; four brothers, Rick (Laurie) Gannon, John Gannon, Mark (Jackie) Gannon all of Grand Junction, IA. and Hugh (Denise) Gannon of Rippey, IA.; many nieces, nephews and friends.
    Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Gannon, grandparents Bud and Ruby Adamson and Francis and Neoma Gannon; brother-in-law Joe Blanshan and great niece Taylor Gannon.
