A memorial service was held Wednesday May 27, 2009 at the Rippey United Methodist Church for invited relatives of Marvin B. Lind and Marvin G. Lind, formerly of Rippey, Iowa. The Revered Deb Parkinson served as Officiate for the services at the church and later at the Rippey Cemetery where the cremains were buried in the Lind/Rittgers family burial plot.

Marvin B. Lind
Marvin B. Lind, 91, died at Cape Coral, Florida on May 5, 2004. He was cremated at Fort Meyers, Florida May 11, 2004 after a private service.
Marvin was born to Arthur and Lydia Lind, July 16, 1912 at Harcourt, Iowa. He graduated from Gowrie High School and Iowa State University with a PHD in Rural Sociology. While at Iowa State he met Zetta Rittgers.
Marvin served in the Army during World War II. He retired a Lt. Col. in Army Intelligence. After the war Marvin and Zetta farmed the family farm near Rippey. During this time he taught G.I. classes and he was a  4-H leader. He later became a professor at Iowa State University. After completing his PHD, he worked as an Urban Planner with the Iowa Development Commission.
Marvin spent time in Florida during the last years of his life with Zetta and his son Marvin G.
Preceding him in death were his wife, parents, brother Donald Lind, and sister Viola Lind Anderson.
He was survived by his son Marvin G. Lind of Cape Coral Florida; nieces Mary Harklau, Gowrie; Janice Kolbe and Lila Monday, Belle Vista, Arkansas; nephew Richard Anderson, Fort Dodge, Iowa; and other relatives and friends.

Marvin G. Lind, 63, died April 30, 2009 at Hope Hospice at Cape Coral, Florida.
Marvin Grover Lind was born August 13, 1945, at Sarnac Lake, New York, to Marvin B. and Zetta (Rittgers) Lind. He grew up near Rippey, Iowa and graduated from Perry High School.
He graduated from Iowa State University and the University of Minnesota, School of Law. He was employed in the law department of Northwestern National Life Insurance Company in Minneapolis. He retired in Cape Coral, Florida.
Marvin G. was proceeded in death by his parents, Marvin B. and Zetta (Riggers) Lind; grandparents Grover and Nelle Rittgers, and Arthur and Lydia Lind.
He is survived by cousins Mary Harklau, Gowrie, Iowa’ Richard Anderson, Fort Dodge, Iowa; Janice Kolbe and Lila Monday, Belle Vista, Arkansas; and other relatives and friends.
