Jean’s Jottings

It was downright a hot and humid day for the Rippey Fun Day events. The Rinkers and I settled in lawn chairs by their garage to watch the parade. When the sounds of the parade were coming from another street, someone drove by and said they had changed the route, no doubt to shorten it because of the heat. By that time the sun had come out and we retreated into the house. The Hanamans came by with some candy they had picked up. I noticed how soft the miniature Tootsie Rolls were from the heat! We continued visiting for a while before I came home. I haven’t ventured out of the house since, except to feed the cats and kittens in the shed, in the cool of the morning, when the sun comes up. Later, when I reread the map, I determined I had misread the map and apparently someone else did, also. I know how much time and effort it takes by the volunteer’s to make community events take place, so I do try to support, if I can. I applaud their efforts! However, this time I had to listen to my body and stay inside.
