The Rippey Lions Club enjoyed their monthly potluck meal at the recent meeting. Plans were reviewed for the pancake breakfast on April 7, 2018 with Cindy and Mark Devilbiss as coordinators. During the business meeting, the group decided to contribute to support the Rippey Public Library and Team Velda’s Varieties in memory of Velda DeMoss as part of the Greene County Relay for Life effort to fight cancer. Trees will be purchased and be planted in Rippey to honor the anniversary of Lions Club International and the local Lions Club. The Rippey Lions Club will celebrate 75 years in 2019 with its founding in 1944.

Rick Fazel shared the program with a fascinating account of his work in Hollywood including acting and demo tapes and other video work with many actors. His contacts included Martin Landau, Ike Turner, Rita Moreno and Drew Barrymore. He also shared some video clips of some of his acting endeavors in California and scrapbooks of productions when he was at Perry High School.   The next regular meeting is April 19, with the meal at 7 p.m. at the Rippey United Methodist Church.

A special thanks to all who supported and worked at the recent pancake breakfast to raise money for community projects and other Lions Club related work.
