Friends were notified this week of the death of Barb Parkinson, of Monona, IA. Barb was the mother of Rev. Deb Parkison, who served as pastor of the Rippey UMC along with Rev. Clare DeBoef from 2005-2010. Cards to Pastor Deb may be sent to Box 504, Monona, IA. Barb was 88 years old when she died on Good Friday, April 19, 2019. A celebration of life includes visitation 4:00-7:00 Tuesday April 23 at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home in Monona. Funeral Services are Wednesday April 24, at 11:00 am at Living Faith United Methodist Church in Monona with Pastor Deb Parkison as the officiant. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 25 at Riverton, Iowa Cemetery. Procession to cemetery will begin a Shull-Gude Funeral Home in Riverton. In honor of her life-long love of horses, Barb will be taken to the cemetery via horse drawn carriage. While living in Rippey, Barb participated in church activities as well as serving on the library board of trustees from July, 2008 until they moved to Manson in July, 2010.
