How Peg Gannon Became Interested In Photography

Share

“I once heard a lady from out of state say she would be glad to get through Iowa. It is all corn and beans. Had she gotten off I-80, she would have seen a much different Iowa.  It has been important to show Iowa and people doing what they do best.

The professional photography gave me access to training, equipment and processing no matter what the subject.

My dad enjoyed the outdoors and taught my brothers and I how to hunt. Those skills can also be used in taking photos.  Taking the photos has not only opened my eyes to how many different critters are out there, but has helped locate endangered wildlife and record changes in the numbers and habitat changes  that draw in wildlife new to this area. I have thousands of images and hope to share these with others.”

Hope to see you all soon to check out the photographs. Her work is also featured on the Friends of Rippey Facebook group.
