Two Sisters and Their Daughters Enjoy Branson Trip

On April 20, Midge Vannatta, her sister, Pat Girton of Ames, and their daughters, Pat McPherson of Perry, and Barb (Bryan) Brock from the state of Washington, all went to Branson for three days. Although it rained all day and night while they were there, they purchased fancy umbrellas to help brighten the wet weather.

Some of the shows they saw were Sochece  Cabuchi, the violinist, Pearce Arrow, a Christian vocal group who were so good, and the best one, “Moses” with real camels, goats, sheep, cows, and other live creatures, that walked down the aisle and back, as well as the parting of the Red Sea.

While staying at the Whispering Hills Hotel, a lot of their time was spent singing old songs, laughing, and enjoying their time together.  Eating was an important part of the trip, also.  It was fun trying out new restaurants and different food items on the menus.

While Midge was gone, Ben’s son, Louie Vannatta, came from Ohio and stayed a week.  They celebrated Ben’s birthday at his daughter, Jeanne Kottra’s at Ankeny.  Also attending to help him celebrate his special day, were Bryan and Teresa Mower of Guthrie Center and Kyle and Jamie Mower, and daughters, Rylee and Nora, of Rippey.  Ben and Louie also spent a day at Guthrie Center at Bryan Teresa’s.

Louie enjoyed his time with his dad and was glad to do a few odd jobs for him, such as mow the lawn, fix a garage door and filled the pickup with “stuff” for the land fill.
