Golf Tournament to raise funds for Rippey Fun Day was a Huge Success!
The 1st Annual Friends of Rippey Golf Tournament was held last Saturday, May 10th at The Hill Golf Course north of Grand Junction. With a start at 9am, 10 teams came out to support the effort of the Friends of Rippey. Two rounds of 9 holes were played with the last team finishing up around 3pm. A free will donation meal of beef burger and chips was made by our cook and treasurer Anita Rowe. Prizes were awarded to best team overall, a second flight, third flight, and a consolation prize. Pictured above is the winning team with an overall score of 62!
There were also 4 green prizes: men’s longest drive, closet to pin second shot, longest putt on the green, and women’s longest drive.
We also had a 50/50 raffle that was won by Anita Rowe.
We raised $1,900 for Rippey Fun Day on July 26th. Hope to see everyone there.
Thank you to all our golfers, The Hill Golf Course, and all our Friends of Rippey members, especially Donnie Carpenter and Matt McNeil who had this great idea for a fundraiser.
We plan to make this an annual event and hope to see you next year.
