I want to thank everyone for the cards, texts and calls after my Aortic Valve replacement on St. Patrick’s Day. The luck of the Irish was with me that day, as well as the support of Linda, Michael, Robert, Alan and Sarah, who made the experience less nervous for me. Special thanks to Sarah, who coordinated the pre-op appointments that she and Michael drove me to, as well as reporting to the others about the results after each appointment. It was nice to have Linda home for a few days. We were able to spend a couple of afternoons looking through some family “stuff!” I shared her Grandpa Karl’s file of his immigration papers, including the documents from Sweden to the United States. There was a letter from his mother written in Swedish. Linda took pictures of each page and somehow, with the magic of Google, the pages were translated into English. After a few days at Alan and Sarah’s, I am now home and was cleared to drive! I started Cardio Rehab on Monday, which will be three times a week for a few weeks. I’m really looking forward to spring!
