Lilly Riley, daughter of Josh and Casey, is pictured here watering the flowers in front of the Rippey Mural. Lilly is earning volunteer silver cord hours, as a sophomore at the Perry High School. She is striving to earn 90 hours by graduation time. She is doing numerous community volunteer activities including making baptismal blankets for St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and Rosaries for children receiving their first communion.  Lilly is helping the City of Rippey get ready for the Sesquicentennial celebration to be held July 31st. In addition to watering these daisies and coneflowers recently planted by Dale and DeAnn Thompson, she is watering the roses in front of the library. The rose garden was refurbished by Gary Weaver.  Lilly and the others are preparing the community for the Rippey Sesquicentennial plus 1. The celebration was postponed last year because of Covid, but now will be held the last Saturday in July, beginning with a parade and ending with fireworks. Numerous assorted activities include a baseball game, a band concert, children’s activities, a car show, bingo, and  numerous vendors selling their crafts.
