Book Signing

Several attended the book signing of Ann Kolz, who presented an interesting talk about her journey as as farm girl, born and raised in Denison, IA..  She received her BA degree from the University of Iowa and her Master of Art Degree from Viterbo University.  She taught High school English for 33 years, later teaching college-level classes to high school students who wanted to be teachers.

Her interest in family history, and particularly her Norwegian ancestors who settled the Loess Hills area, is the topic of her first novel, The Journey of Karoline Olsen, is a good example of the struggles and joys of all our family’s origins who wanted a better life.

Ann is the sister-in law of Brenda Roberts, a long time Rippey Library Board member.  Both graduated from Denison.
