 April 10 – 15, Rippey Library Celebrates National Library Week 
   This has been named as a natural and necessary time to publically recognize the many and varied contributions that libraries make to American society. In a world of rapid technological and cultural change, America’s libraries continue to establish themselves as trusted sources of information, research, and programming for all ages.  Originating in 1958, NLW has been sponsored by the American Library Association and observed each April.

April 12 is D.E.A.R Day – Drop Everything and Read Day.
The Library will have snacks during the week and patrons can “check out” our new books shelf. There will be an outside kid’s event (weather providing)

GREENE COUNTY READS APRIL 20, 2017 at the Rippey Library

             We have the Greene County Reads books in and they are available for pickup. The book is ” Fates and Traitors”  by Jennifer Chiaverini, the New York times best selling author of several acclaimed historical novels and of the beloved Elm Creek Quilt series.

            This is a novel of John Wilkes Booth, who is often portrayed as a shadowy figure whose single murderous act made him the most hated man in America. This is the story of the four women whom he loved and who loved him in return. It is a must read!

            There will be a Book discussion led by Jan Scharingson. Thursday, April 20th at 2:00 p.m. at the Rippey Library, lasting an hour and a half. Author Jennifer Chaiaverini will join us via Skype during the discussion!
